Suppliers selling to large retails must provide high quality product data conforming to the GDSN global standards. This creates a streamlined flow of goods and data from the supplier to the store with the benefits of improved inventory accuracy, lower handling costs as goods ordered can quickly be received and place on the shelf. But each retailer while following the GDSN standards may have some additional requirements for their suppliers as each retailer competes to provide the most information to their consumer customers.
