System Requirements for MacMan-Net

The MacMan-Net 2010 machine monitoring solution is a server software package for monitoring Okuma CNCs. In order to install and use MacMan-Net 2010, certain prerequisites must be met for the server, CNC, and the network environment.

Server Requirements

MacMan-Net 2010 must be installed on a server located on the same network subnet as the CNCs themselves. In order to collect data from the controls, the MacMan-Net 2010 service must be able to access the controls over the network. The following server requirements must be met for installation.

For a typical installation:

  • Windows XP Professional SP2 (Windows Server 2005 recommended). Note: Windows 7, Windows 2008 available.
  • IIS 5.0 or greater
  • ASP.NET and .NET framework 2.0
  • FTP service must be diabled. MacMan-Net 2010 runs its own FTP service on standard ports.
For an enterprise installation:
  • All of the prerequisites for a typical installation
  • Compatible SQL Server application
  • Enabled user security

Requirements for Okuma THINC (P200) CNC

In order to collect data from a THINC (P200) control, the dataZen P-Connector software must be installed on the control. This software allows the MacMan-Net 2010 service to collect data through a webservice running on TCP port 8000.

Prior to the P-Connector installation, Okuma's THINC API version 1.9 or higher must be installed and running on the control. dataZen strongly recommends checking that the control's time zone is set to the local time zone, and that the time is set correctly.

Requirements for Okuma Legacy (E100, U100, 7000) CNC

In order to collect data from any legacy control, the DNC-T3 option must be installed on the control. This option is sold separately by Okuma. The E100 control requires the IT Plaza Set, which includes the DNC-T3 option. This option can deliver data only to a server on the same network subnet.

On the control, MacMan reporting must be configured to deliver files to a certain Windows fileshare on the MacMan-Net server. Typically, this fileshare will be named \\MacMan-Net server address\mmshare\machine name.

dataZen strongly recommends checking that the control's time zone is set to the local time zone, and that the time is set correctly.

Requirements for Fanuc Control

Fanuc 18i support is still in development and will be released in second quarter 2012. Contact dataZen for information on the release schedule for this feature, or system requirements.
