OPC Server

OPC is implemented in client/server pairs. The OPC server is a software program that converts the communication protocol used by a PLC into the OPC protocol. The OPC client software is any program that needs to connect to the OPC Server. The OPC client uses the OPC server to get data from or send commands to the control. The goal of the OPC specification is to provide an open, flexible, plug-and-play software standard for software interoperability. The is a custom-engineered MIRA OPC Server software server application that allows communication with Okuma Legacy Machinery
(supporting DNC-T3) and modern P100 II/P200/P300 etc. machines to get data from or send commands to the control.

MIRA Connector is a server application that runs on the Okuma machine control which helps to collect data from P100II/P200/P300 controls through THINC API. Once MIRA connector application is started, it may take up to 40 seconds to initialize entire THINC API and update the OPC server application UI. Navigate to “http ://{ Machine’s “IP-address”}:7000/” to view a landing page containing a list of items loaded at a certain instance. Fig-2 describes a screen of MIRA Connector
